A verification layer, not another agent.
Today, AI writes code. Tomorrow, autonomous agents will act in banks, hospitals and critical infrastructure. Those systems will be held to a standard — and something has to do the holding.
Devolyn builds that layer. We do not build agents and we do not compete with the tools that write code. We sit at the boundary, check what they produce, keep a record that cannot be quietly altered, and block what should not pass.
Guard is the first product. It is self-hosted, deterministic and auditable, because a verifier that asks to be trusted on faith has missed its own point.
The name
George Devol.
George Devol was an American inventor. In 1954 he filed the patent for a programmable machine that could move objects through a stored sequence of motions — the first industrial robot. With Joseph Engelberger he founded Unimation to build it, and in 1961 the first Unimate went to work on a General Motors production line.
It was the beginning of machines that act on their own. Devolyn honors that beginning, and takes on its consequence: when machines act, someone has to be able to verify what they did.
